The clinical experience of Dr. Ambris in a level 1 trauma center for more than 15 years in New York City, as well as his experience for over 5 years in private practice makes him an excellent source of experience as well as a useful consultant and affords a good second or third opinion.
Dr Ambris, as a physiatrist, is not a primary care physician; therefore in most cases a referral from your primary physician will be needed. The office staff will be happy to work together with you to get the appropriate referrals. If your insurance is amongst the few with which Dr. Ambris does not participate as a provider, the staff will be happy to work with you to obtain the proper paper work to facilitate reimbursement.
